The private association “BRITISH ASSOCIATION (The Factory House)”, corporate taxpayer number 510548911, with registered office at Rua Infante D. Henrique, no. 8, União das Freguesias de Cedofeita, Santo Ildefonso, Sé, Miragaia, São Nicolau e Vitória, municipality of Porto, RNAAT no.: 619/2025, hereinafter referred to as “FH”, is the entity that owns and operates the tourist visit activities at the property located at the above-mentioned address (hereinafter “Factory House/British Factory House”).
The website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.com is owned by “BRITISH ASSOCIATION (The Factory House)”.

The reproduction, transfer, distribution, or storage of the contents available on the website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.comwithout prior written authorization is expressly prohibited. Tickets may also be purchased at the on-site ticket office located at the Factory House/Feitoria Inglesa.
2. PURPOSE AND SCOPE
These General Conditions aim to define the terms and conditions for the sale of tickets for visits to the Factory House/Feitoria Inglesa building, located at Rua Infante D. Henrique, no. 8, Porto. Browsing the website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.com , as well as the electronic purchase of any ticket for the said visits, implies acceptance of these General Conditions. FH reserves the right to amend these General Conditions without prior notice. Any amendments will be published on the website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.com and made available at the Factory House/ Feitoria Inglesa ticket office.
3. INFORMATION AND AVAILABLE OFFER
The Factory House (AGE RESTRICTION: OVER 12 YEARS OLD)
The British Factory House is the last remaining Factory House in the world.
The word “Factory” refers to an organization of merchants from a particular nation conducting their business activities in a foreign country. Factory Houses also served as meeting and leisure spaces for merchants, reflecting the contemporary taste for grand balls and refined social gatherings. The British Factory House is unique in several aspects. It is a building that symbolizes the historic British presence in the Port Wine trade, preserving its customs and traditions. At the same time, it is a living and active institution that celebrates Port Wine and promotes its appreciation among the many guests from all over the world who visit the Factory House every year.

4. TICKET AVAILABILITY AND SALES
Ticket selection is carried out in real time. Accordingly, FH’s server informs the Customer in real time about ticket availability at the moment, the sale is processed.
Completion of the purchase process implies that the Customer has read and expressly accepted these General Conditions. The records stored by FH constitute proof of all transactions carried out between FH and the Customer.
If the purchase is made online, an automatic confirmation email will be sent once the purchase process is complete. Ticket sales for visits to the Factory House/ Feitoria Inglesa are only deemed finalized and binding upon FH after the confirmation email has been sent (Confirmation Page).
The Confirmation Page and the Electronic Ticket are personal and non-transferable, and any improper use shall be the sole responsibility of the customer.
Duplication of the Confirmation Page or Electronic Ticket will prevent access to the visit.
It is the Customer’s responsibility to verify the information contained on the Confirmation Page and the Electronic Ticket.
The Electronic Ticket is valid upon presentation of an identification document, if requested. The total transaction amount already includes VAT at the legal rate in effect.
5. PRICE
Ticket prices for visits to the Factory House/Feitoria Inglesa are presented in euros and include VAT.
- Adult: €14
- Student and ages 12 to 18: €7
- Children under 12 (except groups): Free
- Private Tour with tasting of 2 Vintage Ports: €70
- Guided tour, upon reservation: €22
Children up to and including 11 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
6. VALIDITY PERIODS AND USE OF TICKETS
Tickets are valid for a single day and single use, although they may be exchanged or cancelled up to 24 hours before the start of the event.
7. PAYMENT OPTIONS
Tickets may be purchased at any ticket office through Cash Payment, Debit Card, Credit Card, MB Way, Apple Online Payment, VISA and MasterCard bank cards, MB WAY, or online through VISA and MasterCard bank cards and MB WAY.
8. TICKET DELIVERY
For online purchases, the Customer will receive their electronic tickets (PDF document sent to their email inbox) after payment validation. The Customer may print the electronic ticket previously sent by FH via email or present it at check-in on their electronic device.
For purchases made at FH’s physical ticket office, the Customer will receive printed tickets at the time of the transaction. Duplicate tickets will not be issued, including in cases of loss, theft, or robbery.
Security:Tickets contain a unique barcode. Ticket validity is checked and recorded at the entrance through a barcode reader. A Customer cannot be admitted more than once with the same ticket. Ticket reproduction is prohibited. Only the first person presenting the ticket will be admitted to the experience and presumed to be its lawful holder. Please keep your ticket in a safe place.
FH will refuse entry whenever multiple prints, reproductions, copies, or imitations of a ticket are in circulation and access has already been granted to the holder of one such print, reproduction, copy, or imitation. FH is not obliged to verify the identity of the person presenting the ticket to confirm that they are the purchaser, nor to verify the authenticity of the ticket. A ticket holder denied entry for any of the reasons above shall not be entitled to any refund.
FH declines any responsibility for anomalies arising during the sales process or the printing of electronic tickets, in cases of loss, theft, robbery, or unlawful use of the purchased ticket. Under no circumstances will duplicate tickets or certificates be issued, beyond the ticket sent by email for printing by the Customer.
9. CANCELLATIONS, EXCHANGES, AND REFUNDS
Exchanges and refunds may be made up to 24 hours before the beginning of the event.
Once a ticket has been purchased, if the Factory House/Feitoria Inglesa is closed on the selected date, the visit will be rescheduled whenever possible.
If rescheduling is not possible, the price of tickets already sold shall be refunded within a maximum period of 60 business days after the closure announcement.
In the event of interruption of the visit due to force majeure, no refund of the ticket price shall be due. Force majeure situations include unforeseeable events whose effects occur independently of FH’s will, namely fires, explosions, storms, floods, cyclones, earthquakes, and other natural causes that directly prevent access to the premises.
Whenever a refund is applicable, reimbursement may only be made to the Customer who purchased the ticket, upon presentation of the physical/electronic ticket.
Under no circumstances shall reimbursement of any additional expenses or compensation be granted.
10. OBLIGATIONS OF CUSTOMERS AND USERS
The Customer and User undertake to comply with and respect these General Conditions. In particular, they undertake to:
1) Refrain from introducing, storing, or disseminating through the website any defamatory, obscene, offensive, xenophobic content and/or any other content that violates general legal principles and public order;
2) To not use false identities;
3) Provide correct personal data, email address, and address so that FH may properly process ticket sales.
Users are expressly prohibited from transmitting messages or information that are offensive, misleading, defamatory, obscene, unlawful, pornographic, scandalous, or otherwise violate any law, the right to privacy, or the intellectual or industrial property rights of third parties, as well as making available any information that may be harmful to third parties or to the website owner.
FH will cooperate with competent law enforcement authorities that order the disclosure of the identity of any person transmitting such content.
The Customer is responsible for the accuracy of the data communicated to FH.
FH declines any responsibility for delays or impossibility in processing ticket sales resulting from errors or insufficiencies in the data provided by the Customer, as well as any liability for damages arising from the use of the website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.com or any linked websites.
Likewise, no guarantee is given that access to this website will be uninterrupted or error-free, free from viruses or other harmful material, and FH shall not be liable for complaints, penalties, damages, or expenses arising from the use or inability to use the website, unauthorized access, or alteration thereof.
FH reserves the right to make changes and corrections, suspend, or close this website whenever deemed appropriate and without prior notice to any user.
This disclaimer is not intended to limit FH’s liability nor exclude liability in cases where such liability is legally mandatory.
FH also reserves the right to deny entry to visibly intoxicated persons, persons under the influence of narcotics, and/or persons likely to cause disturbances.
Note: Children up to 11 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
11. COPYRIGHT AND PROPERTY RIGHTS
The content of the website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.com, including images, text, advertising, audio materials, video, or other content, is protected by Copyright and Related Rights under general law and national and international Intellectual Property Protection legislation. It is not permitted to display, reproduce, modify, or transmit the website’s contents in any way, whether for public or commercial purposes, without the prior express written consent of BRITISH ASSOCIATION (The Factory House).
Excluded from this prohibition are uses authorized by law, namely the right of quotation, provided that the source is clearly identified.
The use of this website for illegal purposes or for any purposes that may damage the image of BRITISH ASSOCIATION (The Factory House) is expressly prohibited.
12. PRIVACY
BRITISH ASSOCIATION (The Factory House) is committed to protecting your personal data, which will be processed in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
13. APPLICABLE LAW
These General Conditions are governed by Portuguese law. All ticket purchases made on the website www.thefactoryhouseoporto.com are subject to Portuguese law. Any dispute arising from the interpretation, application, execution, or termination of these terms shall be submitted to the Consumer Information and Arbitration Centre of Porto.
